The Ben Massell Dental Clinic (BMDC) has been an Atlanta fixture for over 90 years and is the only resource for comprehensive, quality dental care available to indigent individuals in Metro Atlanta.
In the new state-of-the-art clinic more than 125 dentists, our Honorary Society of Dental Volunteers, Pay a Smile Forward by volunteering half a day a month to manage the case load. BMDC Volunteer Dentists are literally saving lives with the work they do. In a typical year, more than 14,500 dental procedures are performed at the clinic.
In addition to the medical issues associated with lack of proper dental care, oral disease can take an incalculable emotional toll. By restoring dental health, the Clinic has a life-changing impact on more than 6,000 patients each year.
Clients often arrive at the clinic with other life and health issues brought on by poverty, joblessness, homelessness, diabetes, HIV-AIDS, drug abuse and more. Full time social workers on the clinic staff provide crucial case management and referral services to Ben Massell clients.
To help BMDC thrive for the next 90 years, we need help from the entire Atlanta dental community. We invite you to Pay a Smile Forward (PASF).
The program is incredibly simple.
We're inviting you and your staff to support this all volunteer Clinic by:
- placing the PASF collection display in your office.
- wearing "Ask Me How" buttons.
- having your staff ask your patients to join you by making a $1 donation when they checkout.
- distributing the PASF lapel stickers to those who choose to donate.
